Bon Bini (Welcome), my name is Garrett! In 2020, my journey with Pen Art by Garrett began at the remarkable Landhuis Groot Sint Joris, also known as Chinchó Grandi. This 17th-century plantation house, located on the picturesque island of Curaçao, holds a special place in my heart as I spent my entire childhood here before moving to the Netherlands for further studies.

 

During one of my visits back to Curaçao, I embarked on a mission to research and uncover the history of this magnificent plantation house. To my dismay, I discovered a lack of imagery and documentation for this beautiful place, despite its existence since 1753.

 

Driven by a desire to preserve the legacy of Landhuis Groot Sint Joris, I began expressing my artistic talent through doodling and drawing. I focused my efforts on capturing the essence of the buildings and surroundings, using pen art to breathe life into the historical aspects of these age-old structures.

 

As time went on, I expanded my artistic vision beyond Landhuis Groot Sint Joris. I realized the potential to use my pen art to showcase the rich culture, architecture, flora, fauna, and customs of Curaçao. It became my mission to bring attention to these elements through my artwork.

 

Following my passion for creating memorable keepsakes, I expanded my artistic vision to include crafting handmade greeting cards. In 2023, 'Greetings By Garrett' was created. I love creating these cards and enjoy knowing that they serve as a lifelong memory that people can enjoy and cherish with their loved ones.
